How to share a video clip in Slack

Want to be able to record a video of yourself and share it in Slack? Neither do I! But we're gonna show you how to do it, anyway.

I guess it doesn't necessarily have to be of yourself. In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, it could probably be of anything. Not everything — but, like, a lot. Things you would share in your work Slack. I don't know. Use your judgment. All you gotta do is this:

Share a video from your camera roll

1. Go to either a group channel or a DM as if you're going to type a message.

2. Tap the file icon

3. Tap the browse icon and select your video folder from you phone. Select the video you want to share.

4. Add text to your message if you want. Your video will show up as an attachment underneath that.

5. When you're ready, tap the arrow on the right to send it.

3. Make sure your camera is set to "video" instead of "photo" if you're trying to send a clip.

4. If you're happy with your video, tap "Use Video." You can also tap the play button to watch it, or tap "Retake" to redo your video.

5. Add text to your message if you want. Your video will show up as an attachment underneath that.

6. When you're ready, tap the arrow on the right to send it.

You've successfully shared your video clip! May your Slackmates gaze upon its magnificent glory and excellence. Even if it's three seconds of dark nothingness, like mine.
